come dine with me.

Who?
Plato
Wes Anderson.
Jose Saramago
T.S. Elliot.
Andy Warhol
Ian Mcewan
David Bowie
Roget
Elliott Smith
Nico
Marlon Brando
Roller Girl
Joel Cohen

Where?
A big oak table, in someones garden, lanterns and stepping stones.

Hot Topics?
Plato would attempt to bring up the colour purple, and Roget would shoot him down by naming all the different shades and varieties..specifics wouldnt be his thing. Saramago would make mental notes in his head, and i imagine would just sit and watch, everything slightly lost in translation, good topic for McEwans next book, although this garden is strictly platonic, and free from murder etc, so at least his imagination would be going wild. I of course am sitting in between Elliott and Elliot, and when i need a break from poetry, Marlon is opposite, so its ok..(although he's in deep discussion with Anderson as to whether or not he could have played a silent, smouldering tenenbaum-im in disagreement.)Roller Girl has been invited to bring some fun to the party, same of Nico, and Bowie, and Warhol is of course at the head of the table.

What Would everyone be wearing?
Great Gatsby meets boogie nights. (roller girl is wearing her boots) smoking jackets are mandatory.

What would you dine on?
Fish pie.

Last to leave?
Bowie

10th December

I'm home. and it's wonderful.back to tea, big bed, dishwasher (simple things) and hours of undisturbed reading, i have lots to catch up on, and can't wait..its going to be a very merry and warm christmas in hawkhurst, i can tell already!(especially with the return of Boy in 12 days) I'm recreating the love for open fires at spindlewood, and i plan to leave only to appreciate being back in the country as much as possible.

Came home to this picture drawn by the amazing Kaye Deveroux...me hanging out in her back garden in all the 20's finery we could find. this picture is hand painted on a piece of mdmf, if only I were Audrey.

a good friend of mine helped produce and direct this gem. Anyone around in London on 20th December should come and check it out at the Prince Charles cinema in Leicester Square. should be a great chance to support something good for a change.
